What is ELAC?

The English Language Advisory Committee is comprised of teachers, parents, staff, students and administrators to address the needs and issues of English Language Learners (ELL) at the school site. We meet 4 to 5 times a year in the library--potluck style--to create community and get to know families.  In these meetings we discuss how to help parents interpret the California English Language Development Test (CELDT) that all EL students take. We also discuss and get team input on how to spend the district allocated EIA and LEP monies for our ELL students to meet their learning needs. Each spring we have an end of year celebration for all students who have progressed in their language acquisition levels and for those who are being redesignated as proficient in English. Please come and join us! We do have Spanish translation if needed and anyone is welcome to come.
