All DJUSD athletes on a team must have transportation to away games. DJUSD relies on volunteers to carpool athletes to away contests. If a team does not have enough drivers to transport athletes, the away contest must be forfeited.
1) Volunteer Drivers MUST submit approval forms with the district through this link here: https://app.informedk12.com/link_campaigns/djusd-parent-driver-form-2025-2026?token=zVH1AzfhuP2mEjCPmfcM6awi
2) Be approved by the District BEFORE they can drive other students. Families may drive their own students without volunteer forms submitted.
3) Parents who wish to volunteer as a driver MUST fill out the Volunteer Driver Form at least 48 hours BEFORE the event and provide all items listed. However, approval of the form may take up to 15 days (as noted on the on-line form) .
Team rivers are considered to be DJUSD volunteers and must follow the DJUSD volunteer guidelines (available on the DJUSD Volunteer Guidelines page).

If carpools are arranged, students must return back to the Emerson Junior High Parking lot with the driver that transported them to the game to meet up with their family or to walk/ride their bikes home.

California Highway Patrol requires Students to return to school in the same vehicle they left school, unless checked out by their family at the contest.

All athletes must be signed-out by families with their coach when the athlete leaves the away contest location.
