Advanced Orchestra At The Mondavi

Program Emblem            The Emerson, Da Vinci & Harper Combined Jr. High Orchestra Program consists of students from Emerson, Da Vinci, and Harper Junior High Schools in Davis, California. The student musicians from each orchestra participate in daily class rehearsals at their home school, and all come together as the Combined Intermediate Orchestra and Advanced Orchestra for all major performances and events. The program is nearly a decade old, is around 170 students strong, and has earned multiple GOLD Awards at the California All State Band and Orchestra Festival.

            The Emerson, Da Vinci & Harper Combined Jr. High Orchestras perform under the direction of Greg Brucker.

Announcing:
Expansion of the Chang Scholarship Tutoring Program

 

       To support elementary and junior high strings student growth, development, performance, and engagement during the 2020-21 School Year, as a measure to help bridge the gap of educational continuity, the Davis Schools Orchestral Music Association (DSOMA) is excited to announce an expansion of the Robert and Yinette Chang Family Strings Tutoring Scholarship Program, offering Free Instrumental Lessons to 4th-9th grade DJUSD Strings students.

        The Ex
panded Chang Scholarship Program is open to all DJUSD Strings Musicians during the covid-19 pandemic. Students in grades 4-9 may apply to receive free lessons from a qualified High School, College, or Professional musician. Students in grades 9-12 may apply to be a Tutor.

The Next Meeting Of TheDavis Schools Orchestral Music Association (DSOMA) 
is on Monday, October 5th. 

         DSOMA Monthly Public Board Meetings will be held on the first Monday of each month for the 2020-21 school year. The next meeting will be held on Monday, October 5th at 7:30 pm via Zoom (due to Labor Day), and following meetings will be held on the first Monday of every month.

Congratulations to Orchestras for their wonderful performances at the 2019 Golden Empire Music Festival!


The Intermediate Orchestra earned an EXCELLENT Rating with the scores of 90, 90, and 89!

The Advanced Orchestra earned a SUPERIOR Rating with the scores of 97, 97, 96!

In 2019, the orchestras performed at the Mondavi Center at "A Celebration of Music,"  hosted by the orchestra boosters, theDavis Schools Orchestral Music Association.
