About

Ralph Waldo Emerson Junior High began back in the 1960s, and was originally located at 5th and B Street in downtown Davis. A new site was constructed  in the late 1970s and in the 1979-1980 school year, the first students attended at the new location.

Our namesake is Ralph Waldo Emerson, the 19th century American author and philosopher, and transcendentalist. Our campus offers a vibrant Spanish Immersion program, an AVID program, and a wide variety of engaging core and elective classes.

Our goals for the 2024-2025 School Year revolve around our four main student centered Strategic Goals:
1 - Well Being and Belonging, 2 - Opportunity and Equitable Access,  3 - Engagement & Continuous Academic Growth, and 4 - Confidence and Preparation for Life. We also are excited to be striving towards our district's
Graduate Profile and our staff focus continues to focus on Universal Design for Learning and Mitigating Bias in the Classroom.
